Writers include Linda Ernst, Mary Eichhorn Fletcher, Nora Jamieson, Maggie Rueda, Andrea Rutsky, Jackie Welsh, and Chivas Sandage.

Write Like a River workshops are designed to support participants exactly where they are in their writing process. Sandage says, “Whether you write spontaneously, regularly, or just when we meet, this group offer intriguing prompts, time to write, supportive feedback, discussion of craft, inspiring manuscript critiques, and community with other women writers. Sandage describes the group as “lively, warm, and passionate” and says “I feel sincerely astonished by the writing these women create and share in our workshops.”

This event also features emerging singer/songwriter Donna Gentile offering solo acoustic performances of original music. Gentile believes that stories and music are medicine. She discovered her voice at the age of 38. She says, “Music came to me when I was experiencing extreme trauma. It helped me process through difficult emotions like fear and shame…” She was terrified to sing publicly and notes that it took 9 months for her to believe she had a voice and something to say. There is a velvet, honey and rustic edge to her folk-pop and indie originals. Her songs have appeared in Voices Along the River: An Anthology of Nature Poems and on The Thriver Workbook Companion CD, among others. She has performed at Connecticut venues such as the Mandell Jewish Community Center of Hartford, Legends Rock Bar, Infinity Music Hall Bistro, and many more.
